![]() Grass Whistle, Dark Void, Hypnosis, Lovely Kiss, Sing and Yawn are all really bad. Dark Void is the best of them all, but only Darkrai and Smeargle can use it. Hypnosis, and the rest are going to miss all the time, and Yawn takes an extra turn for it to work, causing you to have to make a prediction, if your opponent will switch or not. Generation Six also saw the introduction of Safety Goggles, which is an item that gives the holder immunity to Powder based moves and weather related damage. We would see a lot more of this item if Sleep Clause didn't exist, and there's nothing wrong with that, it's called adaptation. Overcoat is another good thing to have to switch into Sleep inducing powder moves, as it gives the Pokémon immunity to it, and weather related damage as well, like a Safety Goggles built in. There are several notable Pokémon with this ability that can make good use of it such as Mandibuzz and Reuniclus. This ban is probably one of the stupidest. It's the result of Smogon's boredom, as it has been about twenty minutes since their last Pokémon ban, and they needed to find something else to ban. ![]() Smogon argues that Swagger is uncompetitive and is too reliant on luck. They want a game free of luck and hax, but this is Pokémon, so this will never happen. If they're going to ban Swagger based off how it is luck based, then they also need to ban every other move that has a luck factor in it. Whether the move has a secondary effect that causes a status condition, like Ice Beam which can freeze, or Focus Blast which can miss, or any other move that has lucky effects. I guess they forgot that Lum Berry exists. The best user of Swagger is Klefki, as it has Prankster and will use it with priority, and has neat typing. It can also Thunder Wave and then use Foul Play, which will hit much harder because of the opponent's increased Attack stat. Sure, you may be confusing the opposing Pokémon, but they can always hit through the Confusion, with double the Attack power now, likely killing you, and Confusion is a status that they can snap out of too. ![]() If you want to ban it because is a two edged sword, then ban Guts Pokémon holding Toxic/Flame Orbs, or anything that uses Explosion or moves with Recoil, or with bad secondary effects like Close Combat lowering your defenses. Verdict Swagger may be annoying, but it is not broken, and it is competitive. Seriously? What? This clause is probably the most complex, while also making the least amount of sense. It limits the maximum amount of Baton Pass users to one per team, and the one user is not allowed to boost Speed and another stat. So Ninjask, and Scolipede are no longer allowed to be used the way they're supposed to be used. If someone wants to use a gimmicky stat boosting Baton Pass team, then let them! I've been swept by them, sure, but that's because I wasn't prepared for it.
